Summer is travel time!

It’s finally vacation time in my world.  The Caribbean high season is winding down and for the next few months I’ll have a reprieve from being in front of my computer day and night.

I have a few trips planned. I’m doing a quick trip over Memorial weekend to The Villages, Florida. My friend Gail has been looking at various retirement communities in Florida and has asked me to come with her this time. Gail is the same age as me, and like me she’s not at a point where she can retire, but she’s planning for the future. I’m not entirely sure I’d like to live in Florida but its a holiday weekend away with a friend and an opportunity for warm weather and sunshine!
I’ll write more while I’m there.

Mid June I go to St Barth for site inspections.  My annual June trip is typically when I inspect new and renovated villas, in November I concentrate more on hotels, many of which have undergone renovations over the summer and are fresh for the new season.

Experiencing new and established restaurants is also on the agenda, as well as scouting for new shops and activities, and anything else noteworthy to share with clients. I travel with my colleague Julia, one of St Barth Properties two concierge, so when we meet for dinner we exchange information we’ve gathered during the day. As well as any gossip we’ve picked up! I’ll write more on site.

In July I’m off to Peru.  I’m working on my itinerary and will share that shortly. I’m very excited about going to Peru, a country I’ve wanted to visit for several years. More to come.

I'm in my sixties with the world at my feet and thoughts mostly of "where to next?". I retired in 2017, sold my house in Massachusetts and most of my furniture and "stuff." When not traveling you can find me in Florida in the winter and Rhode Island in the summer. Travel has been a passion from a young age, over the years I've discovered I'm a traveler, not a tourist. I prefer traveling solo, with a travel friend, or small groups. Whenever possible I would rather spend time in one place rather than moving around. I'll never turn down an opportunity to go to France, but my travels have taken me all over the world. I've met some incredible people and had some fantastic experiences.
